Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle are the two most loyal members of Draco Malfoy’s gang. They act as Draco’s bodyguards in many ways, but are also Draco’s sidekicks on more than one occasion. Harry and Ron transform into Crabbe and Goyle Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with the polyjuice potion. This was a plan to get Draco Malfoy to confess that he was the Heir of Slytherin and the one behind the attacks that year. Although Lucius was one of Voldemort’s Death Eaters during the First Wizarding War, Draco Malfoy’s father was able to maintain his esteemed place among other witches and wizards due to his diverse connections with high-ranking members of the Ministry of Magic. Because of this, Crabbe and Goyle, who are much larger and stronger than Draco Malfoy, still follow Draco’s example during their school years. Until Lucius loses Voldemort’s favor after the Battle of the Department of Mysteries.
