Video: Where to expect rain and snow on Thanksgiving Day

The sun went down. AND THAT’S WHAT WE’LL SEE TODAY. The rain is over pretty quickly. Tomorrow will be sunny but a little windy. There will be rain and snow on Thanksgiving Day, and a cold snap awaits us as we head into December. Temperatures will continue to drop, so we recorded anywhere from a quarter to 3/10 of an inch of rain today. NOTHING REALLY HARD, BUT CERTAINLY EVERY DROP WILL HELP RELIEF THE DROUGHT SITUATION WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH. AND THE LAST LITTLE RAIN IS GOING RIGHT HERE THROUGH THE SOUTH COAST, JUST READY TO LEAVE THE COAST. AND YOU CAN SEE IT RIGHT THERE ALONG ROUTE THREE. I’m sure that slows down traffic there too. IT WILL BE OFFSHORE FROM MARSHFIELD TO PLYMOUTH IN JUST A FEW MINUTES, and so we’ve done it. AND YOU CAN NOW SEE A LITTLE DRIVING IN THE DISTANCE. WHERE IT’S STILL 41 DEGREES IN BOSTON. There is a northwest wind and we gained a third of an inch today. As you look through WORCESTER the sky becomes a little clearer than it did when it came in a little earlier. BUT WE STILL HAVE A FEW DOTS ON THE CAMERA LENS DUE TO THE RAIN THAT WAS OUT THERE. AND IN WORCESTER RAIN ONLY ABOUT 12/100 OF AN INCH. IT’S STILL 41 DEGREES WITH A WEST-NORTHWEST WIND. As you could see on the radar, the showers stopped this evening and were mostly clear. COOL NIGHT TONIGHT, 26 TO 38 NIGHTTIME LOW AND AN OVERLY SUNNY DAY TOMORROW. A LITTLE AIRY. NOT TERRIBLE. 46 TO 50 FOR YOUR HIGH TEMPERATURE. MORNING. NOT A BAD DAY. Pretty close to average for this time of year, but that’s what you want to know about what will happen on Thanksgiving Day. Well, as it stands now, as I mentioned, the morning is nice and calm. We head out for Thanksgiving morning, at 5am. There might be a few sprinkles, maybe a few showers, but I think the real focus of the rain won’t show up until around 8am. If you go to a football game on Thursday morning, be prepared. IT WILL BE WET AND THIS AREA WILL HAVE A LITTLE SNOW AND WHERE THE DIVIDER BASICALLY STAY. This easterly wind is coming from some very warm ocean temperatures and that will ensure that it stays just too warm TO SUPPORT SNOW. UNLESS YOU HAVE A HEIGHT ON ROUTE TWO OR THROUGH THE BERKSHIRES, MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE. SO THIS WILL CONTINUE FOR US UNTIL THURSDAY EVENING. And then it will disappear in its final moments on Thursday evening. We might try to bring some of these snow flurry activities closer to town. Therefore, you may see a few flakes of snow late on Thanksgiving Day. On Friday we will have clear sunshine again and it will be rather cool. I’ve been showing you these computer models over the last few days. THE EUROPEAN AND THE US MODEL. The GFS both did something completely different than yesterday. THEY HAVE MOVED THE SNOW FURTHER WEST AND THEREFORE THE FORECAST OF THE SNOWFALL NUMBERS WILL LOWER SOMETHING AND MOVE FURTHER WEST. So if you’re over 495, a coating might be the only thing you can get out of it. IF YOU COME NORTH OF ROUTE TWO. I wouldn’t focus more on the three inches that might be toward Keene than anything else, but rather about 1 to 3 and the same up to the Berkshires. 1 TO 3. AND AGAIN WE GET ABOUT 3 TO 6, REALLY LIMITED, HORRIBLE AS YOU GO TO NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND. And there will be a very wet storm coming our way. That’s why the amount of precipitation is so high that it could be a little colder that we get another centimeter of rain. We may be talking about a foot of snow, but it’s just too warm. And so the only snow we’re going to get will be in this very remote area. WHILE LOOKING ALONG THE ROUTE TWO AND THROUGH THE BERKSHIRES. That’s why Thursday is a firedamp day, cold rain and snow up to the northwest. IF YOU HAVE TRAVEL PLANS, NO PROBLEMS. Then we make our way to our cold pattern. NOTE THAT EVERY DAY IT GETS A LITTLE COLDER, A LITTLE COLDER, ALSO A LITTLE AIRY. WHEN DECEMBER COMES ON SUNDAY IT’S ONLY 38 FOR A HIGH. THAT IS ABOUT TEN DEGREES BELOW THE AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. AND Once we get cold, it looks like we’ll stay cold for a while.
