Pau Torres believes Aston Villa can continue their 100 per cent home record in the Champions League with a win against Juventus, although he admits the Italian giants are likely favorites for their game at Villa Park on Wednesday.

Juventus is only in sixth place in Serie A but is yet to suffer a defeat in the league this season. In the first 13 games they won six and drew seven.

Villa have won three of their first four Champions League games, including home wins against Bayern Munich and Bologna.

Defender Torres said: “We started really well (in the Champions League), of course we missed a good chance against Club Brugge, but we feel comfortable here at home.”

“We know that Juventus, like Bayern Munich, is also the favorite on Wednesday. But we know that we can beat them if we are at our best and are 100% focused, so we will try to get this win.”

Villa are competing in Europe’s top club competition for the first time in more than 40 years and Torres added: “It’s special for us and the fans. They have waited many, many years to take part in this competition again.”

“We started really well and gave them nice nights at Villa Park. We want to enjoy it with them.”
