Virginia (5-2) earned a 67-41 victory over Holy Cross (4-4) on Friday afternoon at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville. Below is a full play-by-play and live analysis of the game. Stay tuned to Virginia Cavaliers On SI for more postgame coverage.

Virginia 67, Holy Cross 41 | FINAL

Dai Dai Ames knocks down both shots from the charity stripe. Ishaan Sharma comes on for McKneely. Andrew Rohde knocks down a floater before Power attempts a three-pointer but misses as his troubles continue. Desmond Roberts, Bryce Walker and Anthony Robinson check in for the Hoos.

Roberts missed both free throws. Robinson draws a foul and does both as the Hoos earn their fifth win of the season.

Virginia 59, Holy Cross 41 | 3:59 Second half

Isaac McKneely knocked down 1/2 free throws before Caleb Kenney scored a layup assisted by Max Green. Elijah Saunders then scored as both teams struggled to score.

Virginia 56, Holy Cross 39 | 7:16 Second half

Holy Cross scores after a goalie from Buchanan, who responds with a dunk to correct the mistake. Kahlil Singleton shoots a three-pointer before Buchanan draws the foul and scores. He misses the free throw as he continues to struggle with the charity jersey. A few possessions later, McKneely fires from downtown, burying his third three-pointer of the night.

Virginia 49, Holy Cross 32 | 11:55 Second half

On the drive, Taine Murray throws the ball to Jacob Cofie, who hits the ball into the goal for the Cavaliers. Holy Cross bounces back with Max Green picking up an assist as the freshman guard continues to impress and has 16 points on the night. The Crusaders get another bucket before Cofie airmails his three. Rohde then hits a three-pointer and extends the lead.

Virginia 44, Holy Cross 26 | 15:32 Second half

Andrew Rohde finds Isaac McKneely on the first possession as he sinks a three-pointer. Green fires back for the Crusaders as he now has 13 points before Ames responds with another drive to the basket. Saunders then shoots a basket from close range. Green scores again before Ames hits another three-pointer for the Hoos.

Virginia 34, Holy Cross 21 | Half time

After the break, Max Green hit his second three-pointer of the evening. A few possessions later, Green hit another three-pointer, cutting the lead to 13 before Rohde tied it with a shot to the basket. Holy Cross scores in response before Cofie scores a fadeaway bucket. Caleb Kenney scores again for the Crusaders as Holy Cross comes to life in the final moments of the first half.

With the shot clock off, Saunders missed a three-pointer at the buzzer. Hoos leads at half time.

Dai Dai Ames leads the Hoos with nine points, while Max Green leads all scorers with eleven points.

Virginia 30, Holy Cross 11 | 3:44 First half

Ames added a three-pointer to his night while shooting 4/4 to start. Then McKneely decides to cross the lane, gets the basket and a foul, he knocks down the free throw and Virginia continues to build a sizable lead.

Virginia 24, Holy Cross 11 | 6:00 First half

Caleb Kenney ends the Hoos’ 11-0 run with a mid-range shot for the Crusaders. Dai Dai Ames answers with a pull-up jumper one possession later as he now has six points on the night. Max Greene then scores in response to an attempt to cut Virginia’s lead.

Virginia 22, Holy Cross 7 | 8:46 First half

Tyler Boston misses both free throws for Holy Cross. Elijah Saunders then hit his first three-pointer of the night as the Cavaliers continued to shoot from three-pointers early in the season, with Rohde hitting his second three-pointer of the day on the ensuing possession.

Virginia 16, Holy Cross 7 | 10:45 First half

At the line, Jacob Cofie blocked both free throws. Holy Cross responds with a layup before Ames fires a layup right back to the opposing side after dribbling through several Crusaders. TJ Power checks into the game.

On the next possession, Andrew Rohde hit a wide-open three-pointer to extend Virginia’s lead, but Max Green responded with a three-pointer of his own. The current lineup is a small ball combination of Rohde, McKneely, Murray, Rohde and Buchanan.

McKneely then scored his first three-pointer of the night and his 19th of the year. Buchanan then hit a mid-range shot to further extend Virginia’s lead.

Virginia 4, Holy Cross 2 | 15:49 First half

Caleb Kenney of Holy Cross opens the scoring. A few possessions later, Elijah Saunders attacked the rim and gave the Hoos their first basket of the night. Virginia certainly struggled to score early as Ron Sachez, along with Taine Murray and Jacob Cofie, looked to his bench early. Dai Dai Ames scores Virginia’s second basket of the night after a steal from Ames.

On the subsequent possession, Cofie draws a foul and shoots for a two count.
