Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly considering approving a January deal for PSV Eindhoven attacking midfielder Malik Tillman.

It has been suggested that given United’s dire financial situation, Amorim will have very little money to spend in the coming windows – a fact that became even clearer after the club announced its quarterly results.

United officials are understood to be keen for Amorim to try and get the best out of his current squad.

However, this hasn’t stopped the Red Devils from continuing to be linked with several stars even as the January transfer window approaches.

According to GIVEMESPORT, United retain an interest in Malik, who plies his trade in the Eredivisie. At least two other Premier League clubs are also keeping an eye on the midfielder, who his USMNT manager Mauricio Pochettino described as “incredible” and “Dele Alli-like”.

“Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim faces competition from Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur after targeting PSV Eindhoven star Malik Tillman during the fast-approaching winter transfer window to lure people to Old Trafford, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.”

“According to GMS sources, Manchester United are monitoring Tillman before he potentially tests PSV’s resolve with a formal proposal in January, but their pursuit risks becoming complicated with Aston Villa and Tottenham also considering a route into the Premier League to offer.” .”

“His performances have made it difficult for his current employers to keep him on board, with the Red Devils, Villans and Spurs keeping an eye on him as they make plans for the winter transfer window.”

GMS adds that United, Spurs and Villa have all sent scouts to watch Tilman in action.

His contract with PSV Eindhoven is understood to be worth £5,000 a week and has more than three years left to run.

Tillman impressed while on loan from FC Bayern Munich at the Philips Stadium last season, prompting the Dutch club to secure the signing permanently before the start of the current 2024/25 season for around £10 million.

Bayern have a £30m buy-back clause and a sell-on clause for the former Rangers attacking midfielder.

So far this season, Tillman has made 17 appearances in the Eredivisie and Champions League, scoring an impressive six goals and three assists in that period.
