At least three people were injured in a shooting at a mall in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Friday afternoon, police said.

The incident occurred just before 1:45 p.m. local time at the Park Plaza Mall, Little Rock police confirmed on social media. The department said all three reported injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Little Rock police spokesman Mark Edwards called the shooting an “isolated incident,” the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott suggested in a statement released Friday afternoon that two people were responsible for the shooting.

Police did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for comment.

“We will update this information once traffic has resumed,” the department wrote on Facebook.

Mayor condemns gun violence

Mayor Scott Jr. condemned the shooting in a statement shared on X, adding that “gun violence in any form, at any time, is unacceptable.”

“The careless, senseless and criminal actions of two individuals today endangered the lives and safety of residents and visitors,” Scott Jr. wrote. “We pray for the victims of this incident and hope they make a full recovery.”
