The Salvation Army of Fox Cities decorated a magical float for the Appleton Christmas parade

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Preparations are underway for the Appleton Christmas Parade. The Fox Cities Salvation Army began decorating its magical float Saturday morning.

The organization has participated in the parade for years and with the help of this year’s partners Azco and Wedding Perfect, the holiday season is looking merry and bright.

“I like being able to do a lot of things and help people when I can,” said Bella Schill, a first-time volunteer at Azco. “It’s nice to be able to do individual things and then create something together that everyone enjoys.”

Schill explained that there is nothing more important during the holidays than family and community, so she volunteers because it’s the right thing to do.

More than a dozen volunteers helped with the decorations and while Azco provided additional funding for the decorations, all of the decorations are new and supplied by Wedding Perfect. Wedding Perfect also created the entire concept for the float.

“We started with an idea of ​​what this could look like. Of course, this is our first float,” beamed Jenny Smith, owner and decorator of Wedding Perfect. “I’m used to decorating weddings and events and stuff like that, but just planning things and then seeing how amazing the help is.”

Those who worked together to create the enchanting float, including the CEO herself, said it was the magic of the red cauldron that made the experience so special.

“The idea behind it was also to just show a really big version of what the Red Cauldron does when you see it during the season,” Kristal Knudtson said. “There should be hope. It’s about giving hope to those who are in need and need it.”
