When Davante Adams moved from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets, it seemed like his situation was improving. However, that wasn’t the case as the Jets are now looking to rebuild and Adams will be coming into his hands after the 2024 season.

Since joining the Jets, they have fired their head coach Robert Saleh and their general manager Joe Douglas. It was a complete disaster for the Jets as they are 3-8. It was a dream scenario for Adams to reunite with his former quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but Rodgers appears to be past his prime and nowhere near the same. The Jets will attempt a complete rebuild and bring their original franchise quarterback into the fold. One way they achieve this is by trading with Adams.

–The Detroit Lions are the best turnaround team in NFL history

–Aaron Rodgers will never play in the NFL again

–Ben Johnson and Ray Agnew will be the next head coach and general manager of the New York Jets

The team that will trade for him is the Detroit Lions.

While the Lions have the Amon-Ra St. Browns as their top receiver, they will need to get additional help from Jared Goff if the offense is ever going to reach its full potential for a fully-fledged Super Bowl team. While Jameson Williams is on the rise, adding a receiver like Adams would completely ensure that the receiver game has three viable options for Goff to target.

At 31 or 32 years old in December, Adams isn’t exactly the receiver he once was. He still has 487 yards and two touchdowns this season, but can no longer be the WR1 that has to carry the workload for an offense. That also makes the Lions the ideal place. With St. Brown, Adams is able to avoid being the focal point of the defense, and in Ben Johnson’s scheme, Johnson can maximize Adams’ talent by moving him into the offense more effectively.

This is ideal for Adams as he returns to a division he knows very well from his time with the Green Bay Packers. Since the Lions are also Super Bowl contenders, they give him the best chance to win a ring before he retires.
