Paramount’s advertising for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is in full swing and new TV spots have been released. These spots contain footage not seen in the first two trailers, and that alone is pretty exciting. But eagle-eyed viewers spotted something strange in one of these commercials that has Sonic fans all over the internet talking. In a TV commercial, a mysterious woman with pink hair is seen in an electronic advertisement in Tokyo. Although this character doesn’t have a name yet, he’s been the subject of speculation among Sonic fans for almost three years.

It all started in March 2022 when Sega launched the TailsTube video series on YouTube. In the opening episode, Tails gave an explanation of how the gaming world works, finally ending a long-running topic of discussion among the fan community. Tails explained in the video how humans coexist with Sonic and his friends on this version of Earth. At this point a picture of a group of generic people is shown. However, one woman with pink hair stood out from the crowd. Her design struck a chord with the fanbase and inspired a lot of fan art and speculation that she might actually appear in a game like this Sonic Frontiers.
