The 2024 edition of Bésame Mucho in Los Angeles will not take place, the festival announced on social media on Monday (November 25).

The third annual edition of the one-day event was scheduled to take place on December 21st at Dodger Stadium and would be headlined by artists such as Shakira, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias and Los Tigres del Norte. The news comes a month after headliner Shakira announced she was updating her US arena tour of stadiums and rescheduling her dates until next year.

According to an official statement, Bésame Mucho has been canceled “due to circumstances beyond our control.” Adding: “We are very proud of our annual celebration of exceptional music and culture that connects generations in a way that no other event can.” Having worked tirelessly throughout the year to bring you another unforgettable show in December “We are deeply disappointed to share this news with you.”

The first ever Bésame Mucho, produced by Frias Entertainment, was received with great enthusiasm and offered fans a line-up that featured the best Latin pop, rock, banda, norteño, cumbia and merengue acts of the 90s and 1990s 2000s presented. Then tickets for the 2022 inaugural event sold out within 12 minutes. Last year, Bésame Mucho expanded to Austin, Texas, after a successful run in Los Angeles.

While the Los Angeles edition may be canceled, Bésame Mucho confirmed that the event scheduled for April 5 in Austin is still taking place. The line-up for this edition includes, among others, Carín León, Peso Pluma, Banda MS, Pepe Aguilar, Tito Double P and Bronco. (The complete list can be found here.)
