TGR announces partially improved Supra (3.0-liter) and special edition Supra “A90 Final Edition” | Toyota | Global Newsroom

Since its first generation^*1 In 1978, the Toyota Supra won legions of fans with its faithful front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout powered by an inline-six engine^*2. In 2019, the Supra stormed back after a 17-year absence, driven by the strong desire of Chairman Akio Toyoda, also known as Master Driver Morizo. Chairman Toyoda said at the time of its release: “Back then, I spent countless hours driving an old Supra on the Nürburgring in order to become a champion driver. Supra is like an old friend who holds a special place in my heart. While other manufacturers took their place.” Driving an old Supra that was no longer in production, even though Toyota, like many other die-hard Supra fans around the world, had no plans to build a new Supra, I secretly wanted to make it happen. The new GR Supra was born during testing at the Nürburgring and I can honestly say that it is a car that is fun and better than ever before.” The current Supra has evolved since its introduction, with the years 2020 and Partially improved models came onto the market in 2022.

The latest, partially modernized Supra aims to offer a more integrated driving experience for unrestricted driving pleasure not only on city streets but also on winding roads and race tracks.
