RALEIGH, NC – The Carolina Hurricanes will turn their attention once again Spencer Martin as they face the Florida Panthers in a matinee match. Carolina has won nine straight games at Lenovo Center, ending the second-longest home winning streak in franchise history.

Martin made 19 and 22 saves on Monday and Wednesday, respectively, stopping Carolina’s wins over Dallas and the New York Rangers.

Rod Brind’Amour confirmed Martin’s status this afternoon and indicated that while he won’t be playing today, Pyotr Kochetkov could be on the verge of a return.

“He looks good, I know he feels good, but there are certain protocols (that you have to follow) and certain time that you have to take,” Brind’Amour said of Kochetkov, who missed two games because he is going through concussion protocol. “So I’m not sure if he’ll be able to come back or play tomorrow, but I know it’ll be close.”

Before Martin, the group is unchanged since Wednesday’s win against the Rangers.

With a league-leading plus-minus rating of +19 for the year, Dmitri Orlov will look to extend his career-best point streak to seven games at the blue line.

Martin Necas With two assists in Wednesday’s win, he extended his league-leading points total to 37 points and has scored in four straight games, including three multi-point performances during that span.

Seth Jarvis returned from injury on Monday and has scored in both games since returning to the lineup. He has scored points in each of his last three games, as has his linemate Sebastian Aho.
