Samsung slashes the price of the Galaxy S24 Ultra in a major new deal

Samsung has slashed the price of the Galaxy S24 Ultra (again) in one of its best deals yet.

The company’s new Black Friday deal costs a whopping £250 ($316.72) on the flagship device until December 3rd. If you’ve been patient and disciplined enough to resist Samsung’s repeated discounts leading up to the shopping holiday, this is one of the better prices on the smartphone yet.

Samsung also bundled the price cut with a handful of free gifts.

• Free Galaxy Ring Sizing Kit and 25% off wearable.
• Additional 5% discount when purchasing the Galaxy S24 Ultra via the Samsung Shopping app (with code “BF5”).
• One free month of Samsung Care Plus.

The company has also increased trade-in prices, which stand at £490 ($620.77). Only the Galaxy Z Fold 5 achieves the top value, while the best price you’ll get for an Apple phone is £430 ($544.76) for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Because they are so new, they are not worth trading in.

A more realistic device to swap, the Samsung Galaxy S21, costs just £240 ($304.05). In the US, Samsung is paying $650 for the same phone, almost double what it’s offering to UK buyers.

It’s not clear why there is an imbalance in trade-in prices between Samsung stores in the UK and US, but I’ve also seen European customers complaining about being offered less than expected. It’s worth checking secondary market prices before accepting Samsung’s trade-in figures.

The free pair of Galaxy Buds for buyers who leave a review is a particularly aggressive and peculiar move from Samsung. That’s the kind of condition I expect from a small Amazon seller, not a giant conglomerate.

However, it shows the price competition the market has seen over the last 12 months and Samsung’s determination to do almost anything to gain an advantage. This is a long tradition of the Korean company, as those who know its marketing history know.

This promotion runs until December 3rd and is one of the better deals I’ve seen so far. The company releases new prices every day, so there are more opportunities to get a discounted Galaxy S24 Ultra, especially as the January release of the Galaxy S25 approaches.
