First launched in beta in 2023, Samsung has officially launched its own cloud gaming services for Galaxy devices in the US.

As announced earlier this year, Samsung has officially launched cloud gaming services via the “Gaming Hub” on Galaxy devices. The announcement was strangely hidden in an advertising-focused post in the company’s newsroom, but the feature is now available on the Samsung Gaming Hub.

Samsung Electronics is transforming mobile gaming with the full commercialization of its mobile cloud gaming platform, which is officially out of beta in North America.

Samsung’s mobile cloud gaming platform, first launched in open beta last year, offers gamers significant benefits by allowing full-fledged Android-native games to be played instantly across all Galaxy devices without downloading or reduced latency, and game publishers through huge efficiencies and scale for user acquisition.

Unlike other cloud gaming services, which typically focus on bringing PC/console games to platforms that wouldn’t otherwise be able to run those games, Samsung’s version of cloud gaming for Galaxy devices simply makes gaming possible of Android games without requiring a full download. Examples currently featured on Gaming Hub include Monopoly Go!, Homescapes, Marvel Contest of Champions and more.

Once you select a game, streaming begins almost immediately. I noticed that the game isn’t as sharp as I expected. The resolution is slightly lower than with a local installation. Still, it seems like a practical alternative to installing a ton of games. A Samsung account is required to stream games.

What’s notable is that games even work with the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s wider aspect ratio.
