Ben Affleck bonds with ex-wife Jennifer Garner on Thanksgiving while Jennifer Lopez goes through divorce: ‘He’s very happy’ “You could hear the bang, bang, bang,” witnesses recall of their experiences during the Park Plaza Mall shooting

It’s the last Friday of new music before the holiday season gets into full swing. So we don’t have as many new country and Americana songs to sift through this week. However, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. This week’s releases are about quality over quantity.

There are no “big names” on this week’s list. However, fans of independent country music will see some well-known artists. We have new music from Benjamin Tod, Vincent Neil Emerson, JD Clayton and more.

New must-hear country and Americana songs this week

“Turn the Devil Away” by Benjamin Tod and Jesse Daniel 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵

Benjamin Tod told American Songwriter about his recording session with Jesse Daniel in an interview Shooting star Earlier this year. “I just came out of the studio with Jesse Daniel. Me and him cut two tracks, we wrote one track together. “It’s more of a traditional honky-tonk style,” he revealed. Earlier this week, they released the original track “Turn the Devil Away” along with a cover of “A Few Ole Country Boys.”

“Turn the Devil Away” finds Tod once again stepping outside the folk singer/songwriter category he has spent most of his career in, and just like his honky-tonk album, this is gold.

“Midnight Run” by Ags Connolly 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵

Ags Connolly has the perfect voice for classic country music. The result is his new album Your Buddy Slim: Songs by James Hand is full of great country songs. In fact, it was almost impossible to choose one from the 12-track collection. In the end, however, “Midnight Run” took the top spot. I’ve heard several versions of this song and Connolly’s version is one of the best.

“Rodeo Clown” by Vincent Neil Emerson 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵

If I were putting together a list of the most underrated modern country songwriters, Vincent Neil Emerson would be at the top and this new song is a great example of that. Not only does Emerson know how to write a top-notch country song, he also has a great voice. In addition, its backing band is airtight. All of this is on full display in “Rodeo Clown.”

“The Road” by Silverada and Rob Leines 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵

That’s a killer combination. In my opinion, Silverada is one of the best bands in country music today. Add Rob Leines and the songwriting of Danny O’Keefe and you have the recipe for one of the best new country songs of the week.

“Your Favorite Christmas Song” by JD Clayton 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵

Normally I’d say it’s too early for Christmas music before Thanksgiving, but this new song from JD Clayton is just too good to pass up. It’s fun, peppy and fits his style perfectly. “Christmas music can so easily become cheesy. So I wanted to make something that made fun of that and felt really fun,” he said in a press release about the original Christmas tune.

Give it a try, who knows, maybe it will become your new favorite Christmas song.
