Owasso had a fantastic season, beating some of the best 6AI teams in Oklahoma.

Now the Rams are just one win away from completing a special season. On Friday afternoon, Owasso needed three overtimes to defeat Jenks 30-27 in the 6AI semifinals Friday afternoon in Claremore.

TRIPLE OVERTIME

-TOUCHDOWN OWASSO. The Rams get the ball to the 1 on their first play; On the next play, Jayden Hall goes to center and Owasso passes Jenks in triple overtime (Owasso, 30-27 | F/3OT)

FIELD GOAL JENKS. Noah Carter hits a 30-yard field goal and the Trojans take the lead. Owasso now has the ball and needs a TD to win it (Jenks, 27-24 | 3OT)

– Jenks has the ball to start the third overtime period.

DOUBLE OVERTIME

FIELD GOAL JENKS. Jenks scores Noah Carter’s 20-yard field goal and we go to triple-OT (24-24 | 3OT)

-Incomplete pass on third down. Jenks goes for the field goal to force triple overtime.

– Jenks scores 5 yards on his first play of double overtime. On second down, the Trojans get one yard. Third and shot on goal now from the Owasso 4.

FIELD GATE OWASSO. Owasso goes for the field goal and the Rams get it when Noah Hill connects from 19 yards. Jenks can win with a touchdown here (Owasso, 24-21 | 2OT)

– Owasso will go for it on fourth down. Ball is at 3.

– Owasso gets the ball first. Rams fumble it, but they get it back.

OVER TIME

TOUCHDOWN OWASSO. The Rams only need one play to respond as Jayson Moll executes a jet sweep 10 yards to the house. Owasso then takes the PAT and we are on our way to a double overtime (21-21 | 2OT)

TOUCHDOWN JENKS. Jenks faces a third-and-goal from the 4th. QB Owen Jones then takes a keeper into the end zone for the TD. The Trojans then added the PAT for a seven-point lead. Owasso has the ball now (Jenks, 21-14 | OT)

– Jenks will start overtime on offense.

– Jenks is running out of time and we’re now heading into overtime with a trip to the 6AI title game on the line.

FOURTH QUARTER

– Owasso decides to hit the ball away. It looks like we’re going into overtime with 19 seconds left.

– Owasso faces a four-and-five play just behind midfield in the final minute of regulation time. Time out is on the field.

-Owasso gets another first down near midfield.

– Owasso converts a third down with a pass play. With less than two minutes left, the Rams have the ball near their 40.

– Owasso gets some breathing room and scores a first down in its 30 minutes with less than three minutes left on the clock.

– Owasso holds and forces Jenks to hit the ball back to the Rams. But Owasso will take the lead inside its own 10 with less than five minutes to go.

– Jenks forces Owasso to punt. The Trojans took the lead at midfield with more than six minutes left.

TOUCHDOWN JENKS. The Trojans respond on the following series as QB Owen Jones connects with Semaj Stanford for a 45-yard TD. Jenks adds the PAT and we’re tied again, finishing in Claremore (14-14 | 8:33, 4.)

TOUCHDOWN OWASSO. Facing another fourth-and-goal from 1st down, the Rams score the touchdown again, with Jayson Moll getting the go-ahead score as the Rams completed a 17-play, 72-yard march. Rams attack the PAT (Owasso, 14-7 | 10:47, 4.)

– Through three quarters, Owasso has 226 total yards of offense while Jenks has 144 total yards.

– The quick third quarter ends, the game is still deadlocked. But Owasso is inside the Jenks 10 and faces a second-and-goal.

THIRD QUARTER

– Owasso makes a successful pass play on fourth-and-long and the Rams have a first-and-goal near the Jenks 5.

– Owasso is on the move and the Rams have the ball near the Jenks 30 after the Trojans were warned for a late hit.

– Jenks has to punt on the opening series of the second half and Owasso nearly takes over at its 30 with 7:38 left in the third.

– Jenks will take the ball at the start of the second half.

HALFTIME

– At halftime, Jenks and Owasso are on the safe side at 7-all. The Rams scored in the final seconds of the half and converted a red zone interception into the game-winning score.

SECOND QUARTER

TOUCHDOWN OWASSO. Owasso tied the score in the fourth with a successful running play from Jayden Hall. But the Rams were warned for a personal foul after the touchdown, which they confirmed on the PAT. However, Noah Hill still prevails and we are level in Claremore. Owasso completed 12 plays – all runs – for 80 yards. (7-7 | :05, 2.)

– Owasso stopped short of the goal line on third down. With eight seconds left before halftime, the Rams are facing fourth down at the Jenks 1.

– Owasso had the ball at the Jenks 1 but goes back. The Rams face a third-and-goal from the Jenks 2 with less than a minute left in the half.

– Owasso begins the advance. The Rams get the ball into Jenks territory and have a first down at the Trojans’ 17 after a personal foul penalty.

– Jenks gets another golden opportunity after recovering a fumble on the ensuing kickoff. But Owasso’s Jaylon Moll comes up with something of his own by intercepting a pass in the end zone to stop the potential Trojan threat.

TOUCHDOWN JENKS. Trojans QB Owen Jones hits Sam Stone from 22 yards, and the Trojans break the scoreless deadlock and go 70 yards in eight plays. They also add the PAT for the seven point lead (Jenks, 7-0 | 4:42, 2nd)

– Jenks attempts a fourth down at the Owasso 32. A pass goes incomplete, but there is a flag on the field. Owasso called for pass interference, giving Jenks an automatic first down.

– Jenks gets the ball back and has a chance to break through as the Trojans have the ball at the Owasso 35 near the middle of the second.

– First quarter total yards: Owasso had 77 and Jenks had 61.

– Owasso holds on third down and forces Jenks to punt.

– The second quarter begins with Jenks facing a third player near midfield.

FIRST QUARTER

– Still goalless towards the end of the first leg. Both teams passed the ball to each other.

– We’re halfway through the first quarter and the game is goalless. Owasso just threw the ball to Jenks.

FOREPLAY

Owasso will face Jenks in the 6AI semifinals Friday afternoon in Claremore.

ABOUT OWASSO (11-0)

Owasso started the season with back-to-back wins over reigning 6AI champions Bixby and Jenks. The Rams also defeated Sand Springs – which plays in the 6AII semifinal – and posted district wins over Broken Arrow, Tulsa Union and Edmond Memorial, the latter of which faced Bixby in the other 6AI semifinal. Last week, Owasso – which received a bye in the opening round of the playoffs – defeated Edmond Deer Creek 40-26 in the 6AI quarterfinals.

ABOUT JENKS (8-3)

Jenks is currently on a seven-game winning streak after starting the season 1-3. The Trojans lost to Owasso 42-24 in the regular season. But already this postseason, Jenks avenged one of his regular-season losses by defeating Tulsa Union 42-7 in the 6AI quarterfinals last week after losing 9-3 to the Redhawks in September.
