Brooklyn Nets forward Noah Clowney had his best game of the 2024-25 NBA season in Sunday’s 108-103 win at the Sacramento Kings before things went south. Clowney went down in the fourth quarter after hitting someone’s foot while attempting a pass. He had to be helped off the ground before he was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game with a sprained left ankle.

After the narrow win, Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez said he had no update on Clowney’s ankle other than that he was injured. Until Brooklyn’s injury report is released for Monday’s game at the Golden State Warriors, it is unknown whether Clowney will be able to play against the Warriors or whether his injury will last longer than a short-term injury.

That being said, the Nets have already stated that guards Ben Simmons and Dorian Finney-Smith will not play with the Warriors on Monday, with Simmons still not playing in both consecutive games and Finney-Smith sidelined with a left-back injury of his own. Simmons had a solid game on Sunday as he collected four points, three rebounds and five assists in 27 minutes of play.

One of the other players who did not play in Sunday’s win in Sacramento was guard Dennis Schroder, who was unable to play because of right ankle soreness. Schroder provided more information on his injury as he has not yet been ruled out for Monday’s game at Golden State, but it could be a game-changing decision.

According to Newsday’s Evan Barnes, Schroder doesn’t know if he’ll be able to play against the Warriors, but he’ll go over his pregame routine and see how he feels afterward. Schroder also made it known that the soreness started after Friday’s 113-98 NBA Cup loss at the Philadelphia 76ers, but it’s hoped the soreness won’t last much longer as the Nets will deal with it against one of the best teams in the NBA could need in Golden State.
