Ben Affleck bonds with ex-wife Jennifer Garner on Thanksgiving while Jennifer Lopez goes through divorce: ‘He’s very happy’ “You could hear the bang, bang, bang,” witnesses recall of their experiences during the Park Plaza Mall shooting

After a heavy, drenching rain fortunately ended the tri-state’s long drought late last week, two more rains are forecast this week, likely leading to a wet Thanksgiving.

It is ideally suited to address the region’s dramatic rainfall shortages, which have led to water restrictions and the draining of reservoirs, but the timing is far from ideal. It can rain on your parade in more ways than one.

The first rain showers will pass through on Tuesday morning before a cold front arrives. The front is moving quickly so it won’t rain all day and there won’t be large accumulations.

But a rainstorm or two is certainly possible, which could temporarily slow traffic. If you have travel plans before your vacation, you should think about leaving in the afternoon or evening when the rain has passed.

Wednesday will be the busiest travel day this week (and probably of the year), as is usual the day before Thanksgiving, and things are looking great in the Northeast. Anyone traveling along the east coast can expect a rain-free journey.

Those traveling to the Midwest could have bigger problems. Showers and mixed precipitation will increase from Missouri to Ohio in the late afternoon and evening, making for unsettled travel weather.

The good news: If you’re spending Thanksgiving in the Midwest, the bad weather will improve by the holiday. The bad news: This system will bring wet weather to the Tri-State on Thursday.

Rainfall will occur early Thursday morning, so expect a parade of rain in New York City. If you want to watch, you will need a rain poncho, waterproof boots and a warm coat. Temperatures will remain above 40°C throughout the morning. Combine that with the humid air and you will definitely feel the cold.

Rain showers will continue after the parade. This is bad news for anyone who wants to deep fry their turkey (we may not know much about cooking, but we do know that oil and water don’t mix – so it’s best to have a backup plan).

Patchy showers are possible until Friday morning. Therefore, have an umbrella ready if you plan to shop on Black Friday. And while you’re shopping, treat yourself to that warm scarf and cozy hat you’ve been looking for. It may still be fall, but the whole weekend will feel like the middle of winter.

Stay warm and dry out there!
