Microsoft Corp MSFT There were significant service disruptions on Monday, with nearly 5,400 people reporting issues with Microsoft 365 on the Down Detector around midday EST.

Around 84% of the reports came from Outlook, 10% from Exchange and 6% from Sharepoint.

Nearly 8,500 users reported problems with Microsoft Outlook, according to Down Detector, with 67% of problems related to the website, 22% related to the app, and 11% related to login issues.

Over 300 users reported Microsoft Teams-related issues on Down Detector, with 61% of issues related to server connection, 26% related to website, and 13% related to website.

Microsoft tweeted at 4:06 a.m. ET that users were experiencing issues with Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams calendars.

At 9:03 a.m. ET, the company tweeted that it had deployed a fix that was making progress in the affected environment. At the same time, a manual restart was started on a subset of the affected machines.

At 12:25 p.m. ET, the company tweeted that targeted restarts were progressing slower than expected for most affected users.

At 5:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, the company tweeted a phased recovery for some users and focused on additional workflows to resolve any customer issues.

Microsoft’s current status is that users may not be able to access or use some Microsoft 365 services and features.

The OpenAI ChatGPT services also experienced disruptions on Monday. Users reported increased errors in ChatGPT and API as of 1:20 p.m. ET. ChatGPT recovered at 2:55 p.m. ET and API performance was restored for most customers by 4:30 p.m. ET. According to Down Detector, the number of reported problems surpassed 2,100 on Monday.
