Memphis upsets Tulane, seriously threatening the Green Wave’s hopes of a spot in the College Football Playoff

CLEAR. BUT NOW WE’RE SENDING IT TO DEREK SIBLEY TO REVIEW YOUR FIRST WEATHER WARNING. And Derek, the weather is changing out there. YES. MORGAN. ABSOLUTELY. We are seeing significantly cooler temperatures here in southeast Louisiana as a cold front moves through this morning. AND BEHIND THE FRONT IT WAS NOT ONLY COOLER, BUT IT WAS ALSO SOMETHING CLOUDY WEATHER HERE. BEHIND THE SYSTEM HERE AS WELL ANOTHER WEAK DISTURBANCE STARTS TO PERFORM AT THE UPPER LEVEL. And by the way, that might give us a few rain chances to work with tonight. HOWEVER, HIGH PRESSURE DIRECTLY BEHIND THIS SYSTEM WILL HELP CLEAN THE SKY LATER IN THE MORNING DAY. But for now we have to deal with the cloudy weather currently moving from the west along with a northerly breeze at around 10 to 15 mph. Now look at the lakeshore held steady at 23 miles per hour. Very windy and a bit gusty. YOUR FINAL NUMBERS FOR NEW ORLEANS TODAY. A HIGH OF 73 ABOVE THE AVERAGE HIGH OF 68. THIS MORNING’S LOW 66. AND THE AVERAGE HERE 51. SO ABOVE THE AVERAGE HERE FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR AND AS LOW TEMPERATURES GO NOW, OUR CURRENT VALUES ARE IN THE 1950’S ON THE NORTH COAST, LOWER 60’S. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE ON THE SOUTH COAST AND THE FORECAST IS FOR TONIGHT, WE EXPECT SOME OF THESE SHOWERS TO BE POSSIBLE, PARTICULARLY OVERNIGHT. Otherwise it’s just a cloudy night here with temperatures around 40°C. TOMORROW MORNING FOR YOU ON THE NORTH BANK. BUT MORE TOWARD THE LOWER 50S. HOWEVER ON THE SOUTH COAST FORECAST FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. TOMORROW IT WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY AND MUCH COOLER TO VERY COOL WITH THE WINDS FROM THE NORTH AT 10 TO 15. LOOK AT THE AFTERNOON HIGH TOMORROW. IT ONLY COMES IN THE UPPER 50S. SOME OF US WILL BE LUCKY TO GET VERY CLOSE TO THE LOW 60’S, BUT I BELIEVE WE WILL BE OVER 59 DEGREES FOR THE MOST PART IN MOST LOCATIONS. BUT AFTER THAT WE WILL START RISE INTO THE LOWER TO MID 60S BY SATURDAY. AND AGAIN ON SUNDAY. And another cool look at it. Highs will fall into the upper 50s on Monday and Tuesday. THEN we’ll start to see a slight warm-up and mild conditions set in on Wednesday and Thursday. We should be back in the lower 70s on Thursday. IN ORDER. So here’s another cool look at the lows falling into the upper 20s. SOME LOCATIONS WILL BE BELOW 30°C ON THE NORTH COAST ON SATURDAY MORNING, WITH LOWS UP TO 40°C ON THE SOUTH COAST. AND THAT’S WHY WE HAVE THESE FREEZE CALLS FOR YOU ON THE NORTH COAST THAT ARE IN EFFECT MAINLY FOR WASHINGTON PARISH AND ALSO PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI. Under these frozen guards starting Friday night. AND THIS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL SATURDAY MORNING AS THE LOW TEMPERATURES COULD BE UP TO 29 DEGREES IN SOME OF THE HIGH LOCATIONS. Just be aware of it. Make sure you protect the plants outside. Again, try to cover them up or bring them indoors if you can. So let’s go back to the big picture. The cloudy weather is moving towards a few isolated showers, it could occur here overnight into the early morning. And that’s because the disruption permeates at the upper level. BUT YOU WILL NOTICE THAT MUCH OF THE RAIN IS GONE BY THE TIME WE GO AT 7 AM TOMORROW. HERE AGAIN THE CLOUDS ARE DISAPPEARING AS HIGH PRESSURE BEGINS TO MOVE IN FROM THE WEST. And that should help clear out the remaining clouds. AND WE ARE SEEING CLEAR AND SUNNY CONDITIONS HERE. AND AS WE STAND INTO SATURDAY, THE WEATHER WILL CONTINUE WITH THE PEAK BUILD UP AND WE STILL EXPECT MOSTLY CLEAR AND OVERALL FINE WEATHER CONDITIONS, WHICH SHOULD CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY AFTERNOON. HERE TOO. All in all, a nice start to the weekend. NO DEVELOPMENT EXPECTED IN THE TROPICS DURING THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS. AND WE ARE NOT. And we expect conditions in the tropics to remain largely the same and calm. By the way, hurricane season is only a few days away. Alright, your first WDSU alert. The seven-day forecast here will call for a mix of clouds and afternoon sunshine. SOME AIRY CONDITIONS, MAYBE WHEN WE LEAVE TOMORROW AND AGAIN ON MONDAY. OTHERWISE, JUST THIS MIXTURE OF SUN AND AFTERNOON CLOUDY COVER AGAIN AND REALLY JUST NO CHANCES OF RAIN AFTER WE GO UP TONIGHT. THIS CHANCE OF RAIN SHOULD STAY PRETTY AT ZERO TO ABOUT 10%. And otherwise, look at the low temperatures here, dropping to 30 and 40 degrees as we warm up
