Bayern Munich’s 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League was the result of a few things, but goalkeeper Manuel Neuer says it mostly had to do with the team’s work ethic and persistence.

“We played here at home against a strong team in Paris. We had to move them around a lot to keep the ball moving, they tried to put pressure on us but we stayed calm. We tried to find the open man and probably played better when it was 11-on-11. But we’re happy with the three points at home, that’s now three in a row at home in the Champions League,” Neuer said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Our willingness to work hard. We were always there during the transition after losing the ball and put the opponent under pressure to turn the ball over. And the transitions into the opposing half also worked well because we created a lot of danger.”

FC Bayern Munich’s fighting spirit and resilience have been exceptional this season and these are not bad qualities for a team.
