While the Feyenoord fans celebrated wildly at the end, City’s players were left to think about another game they will forget.

In the space of four weeks, Guardiola’s side have been knocked out of the EFL Cup, lost three Premier League games and dropped five points out of six in the Champions League.

This felt like a defeat in the end as City capitulated defensively after building a commanding lead.

Haaland set them up from the penalty spot after being fouled by Quinten Timber, before Gündogan’s left-footed volley, which took a nasty deflection, doubled the lead just after half-time.

When Haaland directed Matheus Nunes’ low cross over the line in the 53rd minute, everything looked like a fight until Gvardiol’s careless pass allowed Feyenoord to go back.

It was another sloppy performance from a City team that has lost its grip.

Guardiola had a pained expression on his face at the end.

City sit 15th in the Champions League table – two points behind automatic progress to the round of 16 – after dropping seven points in five games.

The 2023 winners next travel to Juventus in the competition on December 11th and then face Paris St-Germain away on January 22nd before hosting Club Brugge in their final group stage game on January 29th.

More to follow.
