King Charles hires Stanley Tucci to design the menu for the upcoming party

King Charles has commissioned actor Stanley Tucci to design a menu for a party at his country home, Highgrove, next year.

Tucci – who got to know the monarch better after meeting him at a Prince’s Trust event last May – told The Telegraph He designed the menu for the party, which was scheduled for 2025 and was intended to be “an exchange of our two cultures,” Tucci said.

“Okay, I’m not actually going to stand in the kitchen and cook for him,” the actor told the outlet. “But the Italian ambassador came to me and said, ‘I want to cook a meal and Charles wants you to attend,’ so I came up with the menu.”

The menu includes roast pork, kale and pumpkin – “all that beautiful, wintery, heavier stuff,” Tucci said, adding that the meal would “showcase all of this incredible British produce.”

Tucci praised the king for eating seasonally long before it became a trend, saying, “Charles was into this way before anyone else. He was way ahead of his time.”

Charles’ party comes ahead of a planned state visit to Italy alongside Queen Camilla. The Telegraph reported. The 77-year-old king and queen last visited Italy in 2017, when they spent six days in Florence, Naples, Rome and the Vatican.
