Kent State is a putrid football team that has lost 20 straight since September of last year. And even though Buffalo is clearly superior, its defense is so shaky that the Golden Flashes will contribute to the game’s outcome.

Get ready for the final Tuesday night of MACtion action as the Kent State Golden Flashes take on the high-scoring Buffalo Bulls.

Tuesday’s clash features two defenses that have seen better days, and my Kent State vs. Buffalo predictions have both offenses firing on all cylinders at UB Stadium.

Read on as I explain why my college football picks like the over on Tuesday, November 26th, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

Kent State vs. Buffalo prediction and best bet

Who will Kent State win against Buffalo?

Buffalo should win convincingly. Kent State didn’t stop anyone from scoring and had trouble finding the end zone.

Buffalo has too much offensive firepower for Kent State to struggle with. The Bulls’ stop unit is losing points, but the Golden Flashes’ offense has scored just 51 points in the last five games.

My best choice
Over 49.5 (-108 at bet365)

My analysis

The Kent State Golden Flashes have not won a football game since September 16, 2023. For those keeping score at home, that’s 20 defeats in a row.

Kent State is more like a flicker than a flash. The offense has some bright spots, like the arm of junior quarterback Tommy Ulatowski, but not much else.

The Buffalo Bulls’ defense is poor and has surrendered more than 30 points in three of the last five games while being the 11th-worst pass defense in the MAC. So even a poor offense like Kent State’s could help increase the score.

The Golden Flashes may have had the worst offense in the conference, but Kent State had some outstanding individual performances. Wideouts Chrishon McCray and Luke Floriea combined for 15 scores, and running back Ky Thomas has over 500 rushing yards.

They’ll score more than 10 points if Kent State can keep Ulatowski upright. The Golden Flashes are allowing a conference-worst 37 sacks, but Buffalo doesn’t offer much in the way of a pass rush.

Despite all the stupidity on the defensive side of the ball, Buffalo’s offense scores heavily.

Bulls senior quarterback CJ Ogbonna has thrown for over 2,000 yards with 16 scores. He has two wideouts with more than 500 receiving yards and RB Al-Jay Henderson has more than 700 rushing yards with seven touchdowns.

Kent State has the worst defense in the conference. They will be harassed by a diverse Buffaloes offense that has averaged 28 points a night and scored more than 37 points in four of their last five MAC games.

Luckily for Kent State, Buffalo’s defense is just as bad. The Golden Flashes have enough bright spots that I expect them to score at least 10 points against a bad Bulls defense. That should result in over 49 points, so I’ll play the over on Tuesday

Kent State vs. Buffalo, Match Game Parlay (SGP)

Over 49.5

Al-Jay Henderson can land at any time

Buffalo -20.5

Henderson, the Bulls’ junior running back, is playing his final home game of the season and possibly the final home game of his Bulls career.

He has scored seven rushing touchdowns, including one last week at Eastern Michigan. He also has 17 receptions, one of which is a TD, and faces a Kent State defense, allowing 33 rushing TDs and 24 passing touchdowns.

This leaky Kent State defense will allow Buffalo to cover the spread. Neither group is above 50%, but Buffalo has scored 92 points in its last two home games and should end with a lopsided win.
