Jon Batiste scores his first No. 1 success billboard‘s Classical Albums Chart, as his new project, Beethoven Bluesdebuts at the top of the list on November 30th. It is the first in a planned series of solo piano albums, and on this release Batiste interprets well-known works by the composer Ludwig van Beethoven. Beethoven Blues also bows out at No. 1 billboardBatiste’s Classical Crossover Albums Chart, another first for Batiste.

The Grammy and Oscar-winning entertainer also looks Beethoven Blues According to Luminate, Bow debuted at number 9 on the top album sales chart, selling 13,000 copies in the United States in the week ending November 21. Batiste has previously achieved seven top 10 chart sets on both the Traditional Jazz Albums and overall Jazz Albums charts, including a No. 1, Social musicin 2014. Beethoven Blues is his first song to hit the charts billboards classical album charts.

On the cross-genre Billboard 200, Beethoven Blues debuts at number 64, making it Batiste’s highest debut to date and his fifth chart success overall.

The album’s first week sales were helped by its availability in four vinyl variants (including two signed editions), two CD variants (one signed) and a digital download album. Batiste appeared in support of the project The Kelly Clarkson Show (November 11th) and The Jennifer Hudson Show (November 18) and had a significant profile in The New York Times on November 19th.

billboardThe Top Album Sales chart ranks the best-selling albums of the week based solely on traditional album sales. The history of the chart dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week billboard began tabulating charts of electronically monitored unit count information from SoundScan, now Luminate. Pure album sales were the only metric used by the Billboard 200 Albums chart in the December 6, 2014 list. Thereafter, this table switched to a method that combines album sales with track-equivalent album units and streaming-equivalent album units.

The Classic Albums table lists the most popular classical albums of the week, organized by equivalent album units. The Classic Crossover Albums chart lists the best-selling classic crossover titles of the week. “Jazz Albums” and “Traditional Jazz Albums” are the most popular jazz and traditional jazz albums of the week, respectively, based on their respective album units.

As for the rest of the top 10 on the current Top Album Sales chart: ATEEZ GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2 debuts at No. 1 (179,000; the act’s best sales week ever), Linkin Park’s From zero debuts at #2 (72,000), Jin’s Happy debuts at #3 (66,000), ENHYPEN’s chart-topper Romance: Untold Jumps 26-4 (51,000; up 1,473% after a deluxe reissue), MF Doom’s MM…food re-enters with a new high of No. 5 (27,000; up 2,875% after a deluxe reissue), the former leader of TOMORROW X TOGETHER The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY falls 1-6 (17,000; down 82%), Sabrina Carpenter’s Short and sweet fall 4-7 (15,000; up 24% though), Shawn Mendes’ Shawn Debuts at No. 8 (almost 14,000) and with Gwen Stefani bouquet debuts at number 10 (11,000).
