Los Angeles Chargers running back JK Dobbins suffered a knee injury Monday Night Football Game against the Baltimore Ravens. It is questionable whether he will return.

Dobbins suffered the injury in the second quarter of the contest. During the ESPN broadcast, Laura Rutledge reported that the Chargers had taped his left knee. Dobbins tried to run down the sideline, but the Chargers sent him to the locker room before the end of the first half.

Before the injury, Dobbins rushed for 40 yards on six carries and caught three passes for 19 yards against the Ravens. Dobbins is coming off a strong 2024 season, rushing for 726 yards and eight touchdowns this year (not including the Ravens game).

Dobbins, 25, signed with the Chargers in April after spending his first four seasons with the Ravens. After a productive rookie season in 2020, the former Ohio State star only played nine games over the next three seasons due to injuries. In 2021, Dobbins suffered a torn ACL in the preseason and missed the entire year. The following season, Dobbins played eight games as he recovered from his torn ACL and suffered another knee injury. In 2023, Dobbins tore his Achilles tendon in the season opener.

Dobbins is a big reason the Chargers had a 7-3 record heading into Monday night’s game. “I’m just proving I’m right,” Dobbins told Chargers.com last week. “I know that I am one of the best when I am healthy. So I’ll just prove that I’m right.

“The injuries slowed me down, but those are the things I couldn’t control,” Dobbins added. “It wasn’t nagging injuries, I couldn’t play. They were freak accidents. Now I’m back and hopefully I’ll stay healthy so I can show people I’m one of those guys.”

“JK, he brings a lot of positive energy,” Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman said. He’s ready to roll. He is truly an energizer for everyone around him and we appreciate that. “He comes every day, has a great attitude, works hard and tries to get better,” Roman later added. “What else can you ask for?”
