Fall looks were on full display at RH Newport’s opening on Thursday night, with celebrities like Jessica Alba, Sydney Sweeney and Shanina Shaik showing off their takes on them.

Although they all wore different looks, there was one thing in common: the monochromatic trend. The breakout style, which has peaked in recent months thanks to Naomi Campbell, Pamela Anderson, Salma Hayek and Cardi B, was executed with a tailored approach.

Check out how Alba, Sweeney and Shaik wore it below.

Sweeney accessorized her ensemble with a pair of pointed bow heels and a diamond necklace The occasion was styled by Molly Dickson, who told WWD about the look: “We wanted something that was effortless, yet elegant for a night out event… We had other options, which had a more cocktail feel, particularly a bright red cocktail dress, but since the event was with Restoration Hardware, we felt this Tom Ford suit set was the perfect complement to the brand’s aesthetic – cool, relaxed, yet luxurious. ”

Burgundy and its mother color red were one of fall’s biggest breakout trends, worn head-to-toe by celebrities like Lupita Nyong’o, Ryan Destiny and Salma Hayek. Just last weekend, red proved to be the favorite at Deadline’s 2024 Contenders Film: Los Angeles, where Nyong’o wore two red dresses—a knitted burgundy bodycon midi dress and a red sleeveless sheath dress with a scalloped fringe hem—and Destiny wore a burgundy dress-and-leather pencil skirt combination with matching leather jacket, surplice top and pointed heels. Hayek, meanwhile, wore a monochromatic burgundy ensemble in June, consisting of a dress and matching jacket from Gucci’s Spring 2024 Ancora collection.

Not to mention, Galeries Lafayette’s Alix Morabito told WWD in March, “Red is without a doubt this season’s staple, be it in bright colors or total looks.”

The RH Newport opening at the Gallery at Fashion Island also featured Sara Foster, Erin Foster, Lizzy Mathis, Gerrit Cole, Amanda Stanton and Newport Beach Mayor Will O’Neill.
