Jaxson Dart is now the record holder for most passing yards in Ole Miss history.

Dart set the record at the Egg Bowl in Oxford on Friday evening. Manning finished his career with 10,119 passing yards, which Dart surpassed late in the second quarter.

Dart began his career at USC but has been Ole Miss’ starting quarterback for the past three seasons. He had already set a career high in a single season with over 3,700 yards in 2024 entering Week 14. He also leads all SEC quarterbacks in this category so far this year.

Dart needed significantly fewer attempts to achieve the record than Manning. Manning attempted 1,363 passes in his Ole Miss career. Dart, meanwhile, made it to the Egg Bowl on Saturday with just 1,248 career attempts. Manning has had three different seasons with more than 400 pass attempts, while Dart has never exceeded that limit.

After the record was broken, the ABC broadcast played a congratulatory message from Manning:

“Hey Jaxson, congratulations on hitting my stride at Ole Miss,” Manning said. “I’m not usually too happy about one of my records being broken, but after getting to know you over the years and watching your career, I’m glad it’s someone like you.”

Dart is looking for its second straight win over rival Mississippi State.
