Jamie Lynn Spears is celebrating her daughter Maddie’s college decision

Jamie Lynn Spears’ little girl is growing up and she’s “all the way I feel.”

On Monday, November 25, the 33-year-old actress announced that her older daughter Maddie has committed to continue her academic and softball careers at the University of Southern Mississippi. Taking to Instagram, the proud mother shared her excitement for the 16-year-old and recalled the judgment she received while pregnant with Maddie at the same age.

“All in my heart because my little girl is committed to furthering her athletic and academic career at the University of Southern Miss!” Spears began in her caption. “I can remember like it was just yesterday when the whole world was watching and judging as I made the decision to have my baby at the age of 16, fast forward to today, and that same little girl announced, that it’s now 16 years old herself that she’s going to play D1 ball for a fantastic college.”

The mother of two gushed: “I feel like I can’t take much credit for anything because I’ve seen this child go through some impossible things with his strong will, convictions, determination and sheer grace, “He has faced them and overcome them.”

“I did everything I could to better myself, to be the mom she deserved, and to break those generational curses so they weren’t passed on to her or future generations,” she added. “I think her story is a true testament to trusting in God’s will and achieving anything you are willing to work hard for and I couldn’t be prouder of her!”

“I love you Maddie🤍🖤💛 GO EAGLES 🦅,” Spears concluded her post.

Above her sentimental caption, Spears shared various photos of Maddie throughout her softball career, starting as a child, as well as a OK! magazine Cover story announcing the birth of Maddie 16 years ago.

Spears welcomed Maddie on June 19, 2008 with her then 19-year-old fiancé, Casey Aldridge. She is also mother to six-year-old daughter Ivey Joan with her husband Jamie Watson.

On her Instagram Stories, Ivey can be seen rocking University of Southern Mississippi merch. “Go Sissy!!!!” Spears wrote about the sweet snapshot.
