Ben Affleck bonds with ex-wife Jennifer Garner on Thanksgiving while Jennifer Lopez goes through divorce: ‘He’s very happy’ “You could hear the bang, bang, bang,” witnesses recall of their experiences during the Park Plaza Mall shooting

Isabella Rossellini found “serenity” and “freedom” when she was single for 25 years.

The 72-year-old actress has been married twice – to director Martin Scorsese and Jonathan Wiedemann – and was previously married to filmmaker David Lynch and engaged to actor Gary Oldman. However, she has been single for more than two decades and attributes this to her inability to find a partner while raising her two children.

She told the Guardian newspaper: “I think that’s how life has turned out. I had children and it was difficult to have a relationship with a man who was not the father.”

“And I started thinking: OK, I’ll take care of the children and when they grow up, I’ll be available as a partner.”

Isabella – the mother of daughter Elettra with Wiedemann and adopted son Roberto – further admitted that she had found happiness in single life.

She explained: “I have to say, I felt the great serenity of being single. And if I hadn’t done that, I probably wouldn’t have been able to do everything I did. I have freedom of movement.” .

“Maybe if I found someone and fell in love. But I didn’t look for a partner just so I wouldn’t be alone, because I wasn’t alone. When you’re with someone, you become very vulnerable to ups and downs. So I was able to maintain a steadiness and focus that enabled me to study and get a master’s degree in my fifties.

“I was able to concentrate fully on what I wanted to do when I was 14.”

Isabella earned a master’s degree in animal behavior in 2019 during a break from acting and now runs a farm in Long Island, New York to pursue her passion for the outdoors.

She told Vogue magazine: “I run a 30-acre farm, so in many ways I’ve managed to combine all of those passions…”

“When I’m there we do everything from gardening to cooking classes to knitting. I take care of the bees because everyone is afraid of how small and ugly they are – I’m covered up like an Ebola doctor, so it feels like armor.”

“But it’s a lot of work and constant problems. I still have a small apartment in New York that I visit every now and then to take a breather.”
