(UPDATE) It has now been confirmed that Light of Motiram is targeting a release on PlayStation 5, Android and iOS in addition to PC. Additionally, we have a related announcement trailer that you can watch below.

(ORIGINAL STORY) We’ve seen game clones these days, but perhaps never one has been as obviously game-inspired as Light of Motiram, a newly announced open-world game that replicates virtually every key visual element of Guerrilla’s Horizon Zero Dawn.

Young redhead female protagonist? Check. Magnificent natural landscapes to explore after the collapse of civilization? Check. Animal-like machines? Check, check, check. Big boss fights that require precise timing and execution? You got the gist.

To be honest, Palworld is far further removed from Pokemon in comparison, and that received a lawsuit from Nintendo anyway. We’ll see if Sony also files a lawsuit. It would have to go against Tencent, since the developer of Light of Motiram is Polaris Quest, one of the Chinese giant’s subsidiaries.

To be fair, there are a few gameplay differences compared to Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel Forbidden West. First of all, this game offers extensive survival and building mechanics:

In this mechanical wilderness where civilization is a distant memory, ancient cultures, extreme weather and lurking Mechanimals will constantly test your survival skills. Use everything around you intelligently to stay alive and face the massive bosses. Every step involves danger and requires courage.

Unleash your creativity with a freeform building system based on realistic physics simulation. Build a fortified fortress or a cleverly designed shelter. Every beam and brick is subjected to real-world physical forces, ensuring your structures are both visually stunning and able to withstand the challenges of the environment.

The taming and training mechanics are also far more detailed than in the Guerrilla game. Light of Motiram promises over a hundred customizable Mechanimals to tame and train.

Additionally, the game supports seamless cooperative multiplayer mode where up to ten players can adventure together. The official description also mentions crossplay, although Light of Motiram was only announced for PC and will be released at an unannounced date via Steam and the Epic Games Store. By the way, minimum and recommended system requirements are already available and should not be a problem for anyone who has built a gaming PC in the last five or six years.
