The Los Angeles Lakers have a 10-6 record but are on a two-game losing streak. In their last game, the Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets 127-102, despite going into halftime with a six-point lead.

This lackluster performance caught the attention of head coach JJ Redick. This Laker game also caught the attention of former Lakers Dwight Howard.

On Sunday, Howard went on X and posted a GIF of himself in a Laker uniform with his hands cupped around his eyes like we were scanning the area. That was interpreted as him asking the Lakers to bring him back even though they lacked depth up front.

The Lakers were without Jaxson Hayes (ankle) and Jarred Vanderbilt (feet) up front, forcing Anthony Davis and LeBron James to fight a little deeper. Howard feels he can help the team, but he last played in the NBA with the Lakers in 2022.

He signed with the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan in November 2022. He eventually left the NBA after one season and still dreams of returning to the NBA, specifically the Lakers. The 38-year-old played for the Lakers for three seasons and won an NBA title with them in 2020.

It seems that his days of playing in the NBA are over, but that doesn’t mean he’s giving up.
