Former Arizona coyotes Player, podcaster and TNT hockey analyst Paul Bissonnette was attacked by six men at a Scottsdale restaurant Sunday night, police said.

The attack on November 24th occurred in Houston’s Restaurant near McDonald Drive and Scottsdale Road around 7:30 p.m

“There was an altercation in the restaurant between six adult men and management. Paul Bissonnette reportedly tried to help management calm the men down and get them to leave. The situation escalated when the men attacked Paul Bissonnette both inside and outside the restaurant. “Sgt. the Scottsdale Police Department. said Allison Sempsis.

The six men were arrested and are facing charges of assault and disorderly conduct. They have not been identified.

As for Bissonnette’s injuries, Scottsdale police declined to comment on the severity, but said they were not considered life-threatening. He was taken to hospital for examination.

No further information about the attack is available.

Bissonnette played for the Arizona Coyotes from 2009 to 2014. He is the host of the Barstool Sports hockey podcast Spitting Chiclets and is an analyst and host for NHL on TNT.

The The former NHL team left Arizona after last season due to management problems and now plays in Salt Lake City as the Utah Hockey Club.

Bissonnette comments on the incident

On X, Barstool President Dave Portnoy shared a text exchange with Bissonnette In it he says he was attacked by seven men, adding that he “took some but gave more”.

FOX 10 reached out to Bissonnette and his representative but did not receive a response. However, he posted a video on X talking a little about what happened.

“What’s wrong, guys? I just wanted to stop by because the news is out there and I’m getting a lot of texts and calls. I love you all, thank you all for reaching out and reaching out,” Bissonnette said. “I just wanted to address what happened last night so you can hear it from my mouth. I don’t know what it is, I know a few articles have come out and news is circulating.”

He says the whole story will be told in a Spittin’ Chiclets podcast episode on November 26th because Monday happened to be a recording day.

“To be completely honest, it was kind of nice to join in with the guys, have a little laugh and forget about the whole thing for four hours,” he said.

He gave a recap of the events and said he goes to Houston’s restaurant three to four times a week. He didn’t let that stop him from adding to the staff and food.

“The bar where I usually sit was full. I was sitting in the dining area and at one point there was a bit of a commotion in the bar. There were a few drunk golfers. Things obviously continued to escalate. She “I asked a guy to leave and then one guy kept jumping in the manager’s face and putting his hands on him,” Bissonnette said.

This lasted at least 30 seconds before the former NHL player intervened. He said he grabbed the man’s arm as he lay on top of the manager and said: “Sir, if you continue to harass and assault the staff, we will be in trouble.” They just started complaining.”

He says the incident quickly escalated and ended in a CVS parking lot.

“Got shot down a few times,” he said. “Luckily I didn’t pass out. I went to the hospital, that’s probably what everyone reads about,” he said.

He calls the suspects “bad guys” who are “way too drunk.” He says he is angry and wants the suspects’ names released.
