The Colonels posted wins in their first two games this year, defeating Alice Lloyd and East Tennessee State. Since then, however, it’s been a 1-2 stretch with a win over Chicago State between losses to Clemson and Ball State.

In this case, I’ll stick with Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs didn’t exactly look their best in the first half of Tuesday’s win, but to their credit, LA Tech finished the game strong. The 40.4 percent shooting percentage wasn’t great, but the 38-34 rebounding margin and 14-of-18 shooting (77.8 percent) from the line were the winners. Still, it was the Bulldogs’ lowest score (65) so far this year.

As for Eastern Kentucky, they played a wild second half on Tuesday against a struggling Southern Illinois team, but everything worked out for the W in the end. The Colonels have scored very well in their four wins this year (77 or more each), but not so well in their two losses (123 points total). Given the way the Bulldogs have scored so far (in general), I like a high point total here with an eventual cover from LA Tech – as long as they can avoid another slow start.
