Not all magic is magical. Just ask Twitch streamers and YouTubers Kai Cenat, whose livestream took a dark turn on Tuesday evening when it appeared to get stuck Magician Max Major visible to all of his 13 million followers.

Luckily, Cenat didn’t really hang Major, who describes himself as a “mentalist,” that is, a performer who uses psychological techniques and misdirection to create the illusion of reading other people’s minds. On the contrary, Major himself orchestrated the prank, seemingly to take revenge on Cenat for “pushing” and “challenging” him in previous encounters.

Did Kai Cenat hang someone on the livestream?

No. However, he did appear to hang someone on the livestream, and that someone was magician Max Major, who competed on the 15th season of America’s Got Talent.

When asked to pull one of the two ropes, Cenat chose the rope with the red handle, resulting in a shirtless major falling to the ground with his head in a noose.

The whole thing was broadcast live, where you could hear spectators screaming and Cenat himself panicking. (Magician Max had not identified himself to the wider audience, but it appears that Cenat knew who he was dealing with.)

What happened to Kai Cenat and magician Max Major?

Magician Max Major staged an elaborate hanging prank on Kai Cenat’s live stream, which has more than 13 million subscribers, making it appear as if Cenat had hung him with a pulley.

Cenat was visibly confused and upset as Major’s body fell to the ground. Although Major was the mastermind of the stunt, Cenat received some criticism for his reaction to the shocking moment. He said, among other things: “I could be banned. Is he good?”

What did magician Max Major say about his hanging prank?

Magician Max used YouTube to explain himself… sort of.

“At the beginning of my performance I said that tonight is all about decisions, but not just the decisions you made tonight, but the decisions you have made since the day we met have,” he said.

The video then shows footage of Cenat saying he wants to catch Major “in his lies.”

Major added: “Look, from the first time we met, you pushed me, you challenged me, you wanted to see me fail. And I thought tonight I would give you exactly what you asked for. TL;DR: It appears that Major staged his fake hanging to get revenge on Cenat for a perceived insult from her past.

Cenat made his disappointment clear but urged his supporters to move on.

“Let her go! He wants n****s to look…we just look like black people looking crazy,” he said.

“It’s not worth it, brother. We scream at him, we just look like a whole bunch of black n****s looking crazy. So let God handle this, brother.”
