Dancing with the Stars Live Results: Updated DWTS 2024 Finale Results and Highlights

After months of hard-fought competition, it’s time to crown the winner of Dancing with the Stars. Five pairings earned the chance to dance for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy on Tuesday.

In last week’s semifinals, the couples were each tasked with preparing a ballroom dance and a Latin dance to a style and song of their choice. Former Bachelor standout Joey Graziadei scored his first perfect score of the season with an impressive foxtrot performance, while Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik fell to the bottom of the leaderboard with a cha-cha that came up short.

Amid the heated elimination, hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough announced they would be sending all five couples to the finale. This choice follows the show’s 32nd season, but bucks DWTS’ usual trend of only keeping four contestants for the finale.

In the final episode, the stars will perform a redemption dance to a style they previously learned in the competition, as well as a highly anticipated freestyle routine. The results from the semi-finals will be carried over to the final on Tuesday.

8:06 p.m. — Judge Derek Hough now gives his insider opinion on Joey and highlights some of his acting qualities and performances from past episodes.

8:05 p.m. — Backstage with hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, they ask Chandler and Joey how they feel about their performances.

8:03 p.m. — The show begins with comments from the three celebrity judges on each of the remaining contestants. Carrie Ann begins by giving a glowing review of Chandler Kinney and taking the audience through some of her previous dances.

8 p.m. – The finals have begun and voting is officially open!

7:45 p.m. — It’s almost time for the competition to begin! Dancing with the Stars has officially announced each couple’s chosen dance styles and songs.

At the last second, it was announced that there would be no elimination in last week’s semi-final episode.

How does the “Dancing with the Stars” rating work?

The show’s scoring is divided into two categories: jury and audience. During the episode, the three judges each give the dancers a score from 1 to 10.

This season, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli return as judges. Before the audience votes, the judges award the dancers a maximum of 30 points. There are a few appearances by guest judges whose votes are also below 10. If there is a guest judge, the maximum score increases to 40.

This is where the scoring can get confusing. It’s not exactly about the number of points a dance receives, but rather how that number affects the total number of votes cast by the jury. Let’s say the judges award 100 points throughout the round. Dancer A receives 10 and Dancer B receives 20. Before the audience votes are counted, Dancer A receives 10 percent of the judge’s votes and Dancer B receives 20 percent.

Let’s say Dancer A received 35 percent of the public vote and Dancer B only received five percent. Dancer A’s final result would be 45 percent of the votes and Dancer B would have received 40 percent. In this example, Dancer A would move on and Dancer B would be eliminated.

The score is the percentage of votes from the jury added to the percentage of votes from the audience to get an overall score.

How to vote for Dancing with the Stars

You can cast your vote for your favorite dancers either via ABC’s website or via text message. During the broadcast, a number will appear on the screen and you can send the dancer’s first name to that number to cast a vote.

Typically, you are limited to casting up to five votes or the number of remaining participants, whichever is greater. This year you will receive 10 votes per participant per voting method.
