To the islands has faced numerous protests over excessive tourism, some of them in Lanzarote held pro-tourism demonstrations.

Augusto Ferreira, the organizer of a recent pro-tourism demonstration and founder of the new association “Lanzarote Loves Tourism,” has gained traction not only locally but also on other islands and internationally, Canarian Weekly reports.

He recently appeared on a radio show called “A Buena Hora” where he expressed his satisfaction at the growing support for his idea.

Ferreira announced: “They contacted me and we had meetings on Friday and Saturday.

“We will soon sign the first cooperation agreement with them under the slogan Tenerife loves tourism. We are very happy.”
