Convicted murderer Lyle Menendez is having a secret affair from his prison cell with a British university student he met online, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

Sources say Lyle, 56, is so in love with blonde Milly Bucksey, 21, that he has even told her he wants to divorce his devoted wife – whom he married in 2003, a month before his new love was born had.

“Lyle loves Milly,” an insider with knowledge of the romance told DailyMail.com. “And she calls him her boyfriend even though he’s married.”

The romance first blossomed earlier this year when Lyle discovered Milly in a Facebook group in his name run by his wife Rebecca Sneed, 55.

According to people familiar with the situation, he initially approached her under a pseudonym before confessing his true identity to the smitten student.

Since then, their romance has intensified and even resulted in Lyle being arrested by prison guards at the high-security Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, California for possessing a contraband cell phone that he used to contact his new boyfriend.

A recording of this incident was included in the resentencing memo filed in Los Angeles in late October for ousted Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón. It emerged that on March 15 he was caught with the phone in the cell he shared with “several other people”.

Despite being arrested, DailyMail.com has learned that Lyle has since acquired a second illegal mobile phone which he uses to keep in touch with the University of Manchester student.

She even made the 5,300-mile journey from her home in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, to San Diego to visit her much older boyfriend and was photographed with him in prison.

Photos obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com show the couple in prison.

In one, they are posing in front of one of the striking murals in the prison yard with their arms lovingly wrapped around each other.

In another, they pose with a large dog and in a third, Milly sits on Lyle’s knee.

A timestamp on the image shows it was taken on Saturday, September 14 – a date that coincides with Friday through Sunday visitation hours at the prison and nine days before the start of the fall semester at Milly’s university.

In what appeared to be a loving gesture toward her prison lover, Milly changed the cover photo on her Facebook page to a picture of Ocean Beach in San Diego on November 17.

Located in the laid-back surfing district, the beach features a striking palm-lined promenade and cream-colored lifeguard towers, both of which can be seen in Milly’s photo.

Ironically, Ocean Beach is just 20 miles from Imperial Beach – the south San Diego neighborhood where Lyle’s lawyer wife has lived since she moved from the California state capital of Sacramento in October 2020 to be closer to him.

When DailyMail.com tried to contact Milly at her home in England, her father Peter, 78, closed the door tightly. A spokesman for the Menendez family did not respond to a request for comment.

Lyle’s latest affair isn’t the first time he’s been caught cheating on his wife in prison. His first marriage, to Chicago native Anna Eriksson, collapsed suddenly in 2001 after she caught him sending love letters to another woman.

But this time there’s more at stake for Lyle and his brother Erik, 53, who have become a cause célèbre following the smash success of Ryan Murphy’s biographical crime drama anthology “Monster: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez.”

Los Angeles District Attorney Gascón announced he was seeking a lighter sentence for the brothers in October, telling reporters that the couple had “paid their debt to society.”

However, he was voted out of office in this month’s election and will step down on December 1. His successor, independent-turned-Republican Nate Hochman, 60, has threatened the brothers’ quest for freedom by saying he plans to review Gascón’s decision.

The revelation that Lyle owned a second contraband cell phone could also have implications for the case, especially since California Gov. Gavin Newsom this week declined to offer the brothers immediate clemency — instead saying he wanted Hochman’s outcome Wait for verification.

But that won’t happen until Hochman takes office. As a result, a resentencing hearing scheduled for December 11 will likely be postponed.

In a statement to CNN after his victory, Hochman said: “Before I can make a decision on the Menendez brothers’ case, I must thoroughly familiarize myself with the relevant facts, the evidence and the law.”

The former federal prosecutor added: “I need to review each brother’s confidential prison files and the transcripts of both trials and speak with prosecutors, law enforcement, defense counsel and victims’ family members.”

“If I need additional time for any reason, I will ask the court for that time.”

Erik and Lyle Menendez have been in prison since March 1990 for the shotgun murder of their parents José and Kitty Menendez and were convicted of double murder in a 1993 trial

The brothers have been incarcerated since March 1990, when they were arrested for the brutal 1989 shotgun murders of their parents, Kitty and José.

Both confessed to the gruesome murders at the family home in Beverly Hills, but said they snapped after years of sexual abuse at the hands of José.

That argument failed at their trial in 1993, when prosecutors successfully argued that the murders were committed for financial gain after the brothers went on a $700,000 spending spree in the weeks following the shootings.

As a result, both were handed life sentences without parole and sent to separate prisons, although they were eventually reunited in San Diego prison in 2018.

Like his brother, Erik also married in prison. In June 1999, he married Tammi Saccoman in a waiting room at Folsom State Prison.

“Our wedding cake was a Twinkie. We improvised. “It was a wonderful ceremony until I had to leave,” Saccoman said.

“It was a very lonely night.”
