Billy Zane is completely channeling Marlon Brando in the upcoming biopic, Waltz with Brando.

Zane, 58, plays the late legendary actor. The film follows Brando’s career as he became a cinema icon and dramatizes how he prepared for some of his most notable roles, including The Godfather And Last tango in Paris, both of which came out in 1972.

In the official first look images, Zane amazingly transforms into Brando’s lookalike while dressed as Don himself, Vito Corleone. Zane rocked Brando’s iconic tuxedo with a single red rose boutonniere. The Titanic The alum also sported Vito’s signature thin mustache and slicked-back hairstyle.

Not only did Zane look like Brando’s long-lost twin, but he also embodied the Oscar winner’s mannerisms and gravelly voice in the first film Waltz with Brando Trailer.

“Why did you go to the police?” Zane said, reciting one of Brando’s lines The Godfather. “Why didn’t you come to me first?”

While the biopic follows Brando’s impressive film career, it also tells the story of how Brando worked with his architect, Bernhard Richterto create a paradisiacal retreat on an uninhabited Tahitian island. The film’s title comes from a memoir written by Judge about Brando about the time the couple spent on the island creating a sustainable home for themselves. (Jon Heder plays Judge in the biopic.)

Much of the film was shot in Tetiaro, Tahiti, the same island where Brando and Judge met. In May, Zane shared a series of throwback photos from production featuring his character.

“The second batch of pictures from #waltzingwithbrandothemovie ripped a hole in my archive,” he captioned the Instagram slideshow. “Now I had to share the cat out of the bag. The production team was absolutely on top of things.”

In one shot, Zane was dressed in jeans and a straw hat as he strolled along the beaches of Tahiti. Zane also included a snapshot of him sitting in a director’s chair with Brando’s name emblazoned on the back.

The film’s artistic director, Giulio Base, was impressed by Zane’s portrayal of Brando. Base enthused diversity Earlier this month about getting to work alongside Zane on set and how seriously he took the role.

“You won’t believe this: He’s obsessed with Marlon Brando,” Base told the outlet.

Waltz with Brando will premiere in Italy on the closing night of the Turin Film Festival. The festival started on November 22nd and runs until November 30th. The film will be released in cinemas in 2025.
