Bill Clinton raves about attending Taylor Swift’s concert

Among the high-profile attendees who joined Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour on its final leg – including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – former President Bill Clinton made a memorable appearance with his family at Toronto’s Rogers Center last weekend. As Clinton reflected on the electrifying three-and-a-half hour experience during an interview on “Live with Kelly and Mark,” she couldn’t help but praise the pop sensation for her perseverance and dedication.

A video shared during the show showed the politician grooving in a VIP suite while Swift performed her 2008 classic, You Belong with Me. “I understand it now,” he said. “I mean, I understand why she has such an influence on people and why a lot of these young girls are so fascinated,” Clinton told the talk show host.

“She’s not like a lot of people who do concerts,” he continued. “She did more than three hours at a time. I mean, straight through! She just kept singing the songs and getting on with it, which I think is a very respectful thing to do to the audience.” He was particularly thrilled to see the younger audience members, including Charlotte, reciting each lyric with pure joy.

When asked if the girls had asked him to pull some strings for a backstage meet-and-greet, Clinton laughed and said they hadn’t even tried — and joked about the long haul that took was necessary to traverse such a huge venue. “Actually, that wasn’t the case, and I probably couldn’t have,” he said with a laugh. “We didn’t do that either, but the venues are so big that you have to walk across a football field to get backstage.”
