The BBC has revealed its full Christmas TV schedule, raising the bar even higher this year with a great line-up of shows and films.

Their range of festive content includes old classics brought back to the big screen, as well as blockbuster films and special documentaries.

Earlier this year, James Corden and Ruth Jones announced that Gavin & Stacey would return for the final episode ever on Christmas Day.

After the previous Christmas special aired in 2019, fans were left in a cliffhanger after Nessa proposed to Smithy. According to bookmakers, there is an implied 75% chance that the final episode will be named the most-watched episode on Christmas Day.

Other series such as “Outnumbered” and “Wallace & Gromit” are also on the verge of a comeback. However, one popular show was overlooked.

Fans of The Wheel will be disappointed to learn that there will be no Christmas special episode this year. On December 27, the BBC show aired its first festive episode of 2020.

It was released again in 2021 before being shown on December 29th for both 2022 and 2023. However, there is no sign that The Wheel will appear on this year’s BBC schedule.

The final episode of the fifth season is scheduled to air at the end of December. Celebrities such as Robbie Williams, Mel B, Jonathan Ross, Big Narstie, Richard Osman, Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have all appeared on the show.

Michael McIntyre’s Christmas Wheel featured Judi Love in last year’s festive episode.

Other programs that will offer Christmas specials include Outnumbered, Death in Paradise, Mrs Brown’s Boys, Strictly Come Dancing and The Great Christmas Sewing Bee.

There’s also a Celebrity Masterchef Christmas special, which will feature the strictly professional Amy Dowden. There are a number of Christmas quiz specials for Mastermind, University Challenge and The Weakest Link.

To look back on a year of great sport, the BBC Sports Personality of the Year will also be rebroadcast and hosted by Clare Balding, Alex Scott and Gabby Logan.
