Cynthia Erivo, who plays the role of Elphaba alongside Ariana Grande’s Glinda in the mega hit Evil Film, it’s okay if you sing along to the numbers. Their support came after AMC Theaters asked theatergoers before screenings: “No talking. No texting. No singing. No whining. No flirting. And absolutely no insults. Enjoy the magic of the movies.” Some moviegoers didn’t like it when their fellow viewers started singing. When asked by Hoda Kotb during NBC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade coverage what she thought of the people singing along to the film, Erivo replied, “Good! I agree. We’ve spent so long singing it ourselves, now it’s time for everyone else to sing along. It’s wonderful.” Some AMC theaters have also turned away fans wearing green face paint. Erivo presented Kotb with a bouquet of flowers to mark Kotb’s coverage of the parade last year as she prepared to leave Today Show at the beginning of the new year. “Before you even start, these flowers are for you because I know this is the last Thanksgiving parade you’re doing and I wanted to celebrate that and say we love you,” Erivo told Kotb. “Thank you for all the hard work you have done over the years.”
