Cynthia Erivo speaks out about the “bad” fans singing along in theaters

Opponents of audience sing-alongs include AMC Theaters spokesman Ryan Noonan, who told the Indianapolis Star that AMC asked moviegoers not to sing during the musical to avoid disruption.

“AMC has a longstanding policy prohibiting disruptive behavior,” he told the publication. “The “Wicked” preshow spot (which also includes “No Singing”) takes on the themes of the film and reminds moviegoers in a fun and engaging way not to disrupt the experience for those around them while they enjoy the show.”

Erivo enjoys being a part of the film and tells Kotb, Roker and Guthrie, “It’s the most wonderful, incredible experience ever.” It’s such a wonderful thing to share with everyone. We kept it to ourselves and now everyone else can see it.”

Erivo also presented Kotb with a bouquet of flowers during the broadcast as a tribute to their long-standing collaboration Today Co-host leaving the show in January.

“Before you even start, these flowers are for you because I know this is the last Thanksgiving parade you’re doing and I wanted to celebrate that and say we love you,” Erivo told Kotb. “Thank you for all the hard work you have done over the years.”
