Here’s what grocery stores in New Jersey are open and closed on Thanksgiving

My family has hosted Thanksgiving my entire life, and almost every year we have to rush to the grocery store for last-minute purchases.

Luckily, our local grocery store’s hours have saved our dinner plans more times than we’d like to admit.

I know the chaos that can come with meal prep and the impending start of dinner. Below is your food guide for when every second counts.

ShopRite

There are over 100 locations throughout New Jersey. Be sure to check with your nearest ShopRite for specific Thanksgiving hours. For example, the ShopRite of Woodbridge is open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the ShopRite of West Deptford is closed on Thanksgiving. Find all ShopRite locations and their holiday hours in one convenient place.

Wegmans

Wegmans has nine locations in New Jersey: Bridgewater, Cherry Hill, Hanover, Manalapan, Montvale, Mt. Laurel, Ocean, Princeton and Woodbridge. All sites will close at 4:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving and reopen their doors at 6:00 a.m. Friday

There are over 60 Acme stores in New Jersey. Thanksgiving hours vary from store to store. So call ahead before stopping by, Acme’s website says. The Old Bridge Acme is open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the Freehold Acme is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m

Whole Foods Market

Whole Foods is present in 24 communities in New Jersey. Regardless of location, all stores will be open this Thanksgiving from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m

Kings Food Markets

You can find 16 Kings locations around New Jersey. On Thanksgiving, all stores are open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m

ALDI

There are over 60 ALDI stores throughout New Jersey. However, if this is your favorite grocery store, decide what you need ahead of time. All ALDI locations are closed on Thanksgiving, the same applies on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday and Christmas.

Lidl

Just like ALDI, Lidl will close its doors on Thanksgiving. “All stores will be closed on Thanksgiving to give our employees time to spend with their families. They will reopen for normal hours on Friday, November 29th,” the company says on its website.

Costco wholesale

Costco’s nine locations in New Jersey will be closed this Thanksgiving, and the same will be true for Christmas Day.

Walmart Supercenter

Walmart will not be open on Thanksgiving. So plan your vacation needs in advance or come up with an alternative shopping plan.

Trader Joe’s

All Trader Joe’s locations are closed for Thanksgiving.
