Ben Affleck bonds with ex-wife Jennifer Garner on Thanksgiving while Jennifer Lopez goes through divorce: ‘He’s very happy’ “You could hear the bang, bang, bang,” witnesses recall of their experiences during the Park Plaza Mall shooting

The first horror family to be there Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade may have been “The Munsters” in 1964, but The Addams Family was finally caught up a few decades later.

In 1991, the Addams Family, founded by Charles Addams, debuted in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, taking over the short-lived “European Village” float to celebrate that year’s live-action film. The Barry Sonnenfeld-directed live-action film didn’t hit theaters until November 22 of that year, just six days before the 65th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade aired on November 28, 1991. And the film’s cast even appeared in full costume, included Christina Ricci (Wednesday), Jimmy Workman (Pugsley), Judith Malina (grandmother) and Carel Struycken (Lurch), accompanied by cousin Itt.

The Addams Family float in the 1991 parade was partnered with the Cultural Dance Ensemble of Camden High School in New Jersey, whose goal was to “promote the understanding of diverse cultures through the universal language of dance and music.”

The reason we bring this up is because The Addams Family returns to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this week with Netflix and Tim Burton’s spin-off television series.Wednesday“Getting your own float for the first time ever!” Netflix has previously paid to advertise Floats The Christmas Chronicles And Lionand this year it’s all about “Wednesday” in the lead role Jenna Ortega. The hit horror series will release its highly anticipated second season next year.

IGN dropped the first sneak peek at this year’s “Wednesday” trailer today (below), giving us a look at a giant rendering of Ortega’s Wednesday and the severed hand called “Thing!” According to Fandom, the float is officially titled “Wednesday festival.”

Fandom previews: “The float features Wednesday, who hates Thanksgiving and parades and celebrates the terrible affair by doing something she loves – embarrassing her younger brother Pugsley.” She literally serves his head on a platter, surrounded by a buffet of rotten fruits, rotten vegetables and menacing insects.” Singer Bishop Briggs will be part of the new float.
