Arsenal have signed three players permanently from Real Madrid in their history, with the Gunners also making the most of loaning players from the Spanish giants.

Arsenal have all signed Davor Suker, Mesut Ozil and Martin Odegaard from Madrid, with Julio Baptista and Dani Ceballos also enjoying temporary stays in north London.

It’s a surprisingly well-trodden path and Mikel Arteta’s side could now be planning a move for a Madrid playmaker who was once under contract with Manchester City.

TBR football understands that Arsenal are actively monitoring the situation of Brahim Diaz in Spain, who is not happy with his minutes in Madrid.

Brahim Diaz is increasingly worried about his chances at Real Madrid

After joining the club from City in 2019, Diaz is becoming increasingly concerned about his situation at the club and could therefore decide to leave the club in January.

In a situation not unlike Arda Guler’s, Diaz struggled for opportunities in Madrid, even as Carlo Ancelotti assured the Morocco international that he remained a hugely important figure.

Diaz has only played two games for Madrid this season and there is growing concern in his camp that he may have to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 25-year-old spent a long time on loan at AC Milan for three seasons and is still highly regarded by the historic Italian club.

In fact, Milan are ready to welcome Diaz back should he become available, but they are not alone in their admiration.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham are closely monitoring Brahim Diaz’s situation

TBR understands Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are among the clubs monitoring the situation closely, as is Guler.

Arsenal are interested in signing Guler, who showcased his talent at the European Championships last summer.

If Diaz becomes available, Man City would of course also consider bringing him back to the club, such is his talent.

As with Guler, Real currently state that Diaz is unavailable, but there is a belief that their stance on both players could change in the coming weeks ahead of the January window, particularly if the possibility of a potential loan move arises.
