Up, up and away! Robin Roberts gave fans an update on Tuesday when she announced that she was leaving her home in New York to pursue a new venture.

An Instagram post states: GMA The host said she was taking an assignment abroad and that sounds exciting.

Alongside a photo of herself at the airport with her glam squad, Robin wrote: “Out and about again with Glam Fam! This time we are going across the pond and will sit down with “kings”. Hmmm. Stay.” I contacted @goodmorningamerica for the details. #terrifictuesday #cmon.”

She didn’t reveal any further details, although her followers on social media begged Robin to tell them more.

Her exciting appearance comes at a poignant time as she was recently awarded the Poynter Medal for Lifetime Achievement at the annual Bowtie Ball.

At the event, she spoke about her life-changing decision to go public about her battle with breast cancer in 2007.

At the time, Robin wrote a deeply personal essay about chemotherapy that was shared ABC News.

“Oh my God,” she said, trying to hold back tears. “It wasn’t an easy decision. It was my mom who said, ‘Make your chaos your message.'”

Robin has been open about her battle with breast cancer

An emotional Robin added: “And knowing that I was very lucky to have quality healthcare, that I wasn’t going to lose my job… and that’s something a lot of people can’t say when they’re going through a healthcare journey.”

“And to give her voice…I was actually at the Riverwalk today. And a woman named Angela came up to me, hugged me and said that she had cancer right after me.” She said, ‘If Robin can do it, I can do it.'”

In her essay, she also thanked her legions of loyal helpers GMA She thanked viewers for their thoughts and prayers, which she said helped “sustain” her.

Robin beat the disease, but five years later he was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS).

She didn’t let that stop her either.

She underwent several sessions of chemotherapy and received a bone marrow transplant in 2012 from her sister Sally-Ann.

Robin has been vocal about wanting people to see her doing well and not just surviving.

“I don’t want to be a survivor” she said in the Dr. Oz show. “I don’t want to survive something like this, I want to be successful.”
