In his playoff round, the 53-year-old musician put the rest of his five-singer team to the test with challenging songs.

He also surprised many fans by choosing not a fellow musician as his mega-mentor, but Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles.

While this choice stunned many fans, his choice of two singers also drew the ire of many others.

Snoop chose Jeremy Beloate and Christina Eagle to carry on. Many were upset that Mikaela Ayira, Aliyah Khaylyn and Austyns Stancil were sent home, even though many felt they should have stayed.

Snoop explained in the confessional, “I’d like to bring someone special.” Not the normal, the usual, or the expected, but something that’s… worth its weight in gold.

As Snoop and Simone hugged in the rehearsal room, Snoop explained in his confessional, “I brought Simone Biles because the things she’s been through, going through and the way she has to prepare, is what these artists are actually experiencing.”‘

He wanted her to “give them some advice,” including on dealing with pressure and dealing with mental challenges.

Admitting to being a “huge music fan” and loving The Voice, she added: “I know the hard work and dedication it takes when you’re an amateur and then decide to go pro.” You have to just making sure they believe in themselves.”

Still, fans weren’t convinced by Snoop’s methods, like @eolson1488, who joked, “Why is Simone Biles competing in a singing competition? ‘Are her ears Olympic too?’

However, @Iam_MyraJ was in favor of Snoop’s choice, adding: “People wonder why Simon Biles is there as a mentor.” Simple. She is a master performer and Snoop must have recognized the need to increase his team’s stage presence because his team clearly has the talent.”

@JohnRhinesSTL said: “I understand that Simone Biles is a great athlete with many Olympic medals, but her role as “coach” on The Voice is a stretch of the imagination and seems like a chance to fulfill her contract with her and that it was.” . #Disappointing.’

@katie_bremner4 added: “Don’t get me wrong.” Simone Biles seems like a great person to spend time with, but we’ve never heard her sing a single note, so there’s no point in having her on The Voice, unless she follows in Carly Patterson’s footsteps and releases an album after her gymnastics career. ‘

@dmarieeex was in favor of Simone joining the show, explaining: “I keep seeing people say why @Simone_Biles is a voice mentor.” Simple; even though she answered it. She was there to free people from their shells. Someone they could gain trust from. I hope this sums it all up for anyone who is still confused.’

While fans were confused when Snoop hired an Olympic gymnast as a vocal mentor, many were angry that he chose Beloate and Eagle over Mikaela, Aliyah and Austyns.

After choosing Jeremy, which most fans seemed to have little to no problem with after his strong performance, he told the rest what he based his selection on.

“The one I’m going to choose is the one that I think has the most room to grow in terms of what I’m looking for to end the show,” Snoop said before choosing Christina, although many Fans preferred Aliyah or Austyns.

@CrazyBoothSocks said: “How can you not pick Aliyah?” PICK who might win…not “room to grow.” It’s the finale, not an audition. I don’t understand you!’
