Authorities say a man was fatally shot in a traffic accident near the Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip.

It was reported at the intersection of Las Vegas Blvd and Palazzo Drive on Monday around 4:04 p.m.

According to authorities, the victim and suspect were driving through the intersection and were believed to be involved in a road rage incident.

The victim, described as a white male adult in his 50s, was shot in the neck as he approached the suspect’s vehicle, according to preliminary reports.

According to police, the man was driving a gray Jeep Cherokee and was an Uber driver with two passengers riding behind the suspect before the confrontation.

After the shooting, the suspect drove away from the scene in a silver Subaru WRX but was later identified and located near Washington and Torrey Pines.

According to police, a woman in her 20s was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the shooting and is currently being questioned by investigators.

Additionally, authorities added that both the victim and suspect were armed with a firearm, but the suspect did not fire any shots.

Lanes in the area have now reopened and there are currently no suspects in custody.
