Thanksgiving revelers and Black Friday shoppers may not be able to devour the cold and rainy weather that will soon move through the Washington area. Here’s what you need to know:

Tuesday will be partly sunny and windy, with a few showers still expected early in the morning. As the afternoon progresses, clouds will decrease, but winds will increase with speeds ranging from 10 mph to gusts of up to 25 mph.

Wednesday will be cooler with temperatures around 50 degrees and it will at least be dry. But not for long.

There will be cold showers on Thanksgiving Day.

“It’s going to be a wet day,” said Steve Rudin, 7News First Alert meteorologist. “Start planning indoor activities for this Thanksgiving Day as it will be wet and cold this year.”

Rainfall amounts Thursday will range from half an inch to about an inch, with highs between 45 and 50 degrees.

If you’re lining up outside to grab the early Black Friday deals, be prepared for stormy conditions, Rudin said.

Any lingering showers will clear quickly early this morning as skies clear. However, Rudin said to pack well for Black Friday shopping. Gusty winds of 10 to 20 mph from the northwest will make for a chilly day.

This weekend, 7News First Alert Chief Meteorologist Veronica Johnson said highs will be around 30 degrees as colder air moves in.

“It’s going to be a brisk weekend, but it’s a sunny weekend,” Johnson said.
